25 Mile Bike Ride

Date / time Sun, September 20, 2020 10:00am–2:30pm
Location Centennial Trail
Crew 82 is planning a approximately 25 mile round trip bike ride on the Centennial Trail between Romeoville and Joliet on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 10 AM to 2:30 PM.
We would like to invite the older Scouts (13 and above) and Leaders in Troop 82 to join us. Our tour guide will be Chris Dorion (current Crew 82 leader, past Pack 42 leader, and Lockport native). Trail follows the old I&M Canal and goes past a few old locks, quarries, limestone ravines, a 100 year old abandoned amusement park (Dellwood Park), old Joliet Prison and the old Joliet Iron Works (with a walking trail thru the ruins of a 19 th century foundry).

We will be meeting  at Centennial Trail - 2nd Street Access (249 West 2nd Street, Lockport, IL 6044) at 10 AM. Will return to same location at 2:30 PM. There is no cost to the event but scouts will need to arrange their own transportation including bike to and from Lockport. Participants will need to bring  BSA Med Form (Parts A & B), Bike, Bike Helmet, Water Bottle, Lunch, Hand Sanitizer, Mask, and dress appropriately for weather conditions.

Commitment forms ( scout and leader) should be submitted to the Troop Feed Me Box by Tuesday, September 15, 2020.
Contact Mr Wasco  at cwasco@comcast.net or 630-632-9444 if there are any questions.
