Summer Camp Central

Posted by Scout Webmaster on Jul 27, 2015

Two dedicated groups of Troop 82 scouts recently spent two weeks at scout summer camps. The first group traveled to Camp Napowan, in Wild Rose, Wisconsin for a great week of fun and activities. This marked a second visit to Camp Napowan, and based on the scouts success seems to be growing into a favorite. The scouts earned the Honor Troop Award, CAP Award and completed a whopping 69 Merit badges! A highlight was the greased watermelon contest.

A second and smaller group spent a week in July at Camp Lowden, in Oregon, Illinois. Nestled along the Rock River, this camp has long been a favorite of younger scouts in the troop. This year, 12 scouts earned 29 Merit badges, along with 7 partially completed badges, 5 Trailblazer Awards and 2 snorkeling awards. Highlights included the high ropes course and rifle shooting.

Two camps and 98 Merit badges. Whew! What a great accomplishment and a fantastic way to have some summertime fun.
